Jan 08 - ICTR Visit
We walked from the hotel to the International Court Tribunal for Rwanda and
were greeted by Josephine, a Sweedish intern at the ICTR. We explored the library, toured the building, watched an informational video and had a briefing from the information officer (NAME).
After lunch, some of the group had free time to explore Arusha and the others went to Nkoaranga orphanage center to meet with hospital employees participating in PhotoVoice. We explained PhotoVoice, distributed disposable cameras and demonstrated how to take pictures. Then the PhotoVoice students went to Nkoaranga school met with students, and explained PhotoVoice. Finally, this group traveled to Ailanga seminary school to drop off money for painting material, trees, and other supplies that was raised by our group. Students at Ailanga were also instructed about the PhotoVoice project.
Our entire group went to Tembo club for a barbeque dinner.
